Your very odd, confusing and politically-correct editorial, “Aldermen, own Chicago’s violence,” is another well-intentioned but misdirected plea to end Chicago’s violence.

You were careful to include all the aldermen in your scolding, but careful, too, not to narrow down your accusations to the dozen districts where the violence occurs.

No mention of race and no mention of an entire Chicago culture needing to redefine itself with a moral and modern behavior pattern.

Some mention of accountability, for instance parents knowing what their children are doing, but not the needed accountability for an entire culture to hold its own responsible and let legal fairness and civility reign over cultural and racial “loyalty” and a misguided sense of mistrust over others.

Aldermen should go “door to door?” When was the last time Rahm Emanuel went door to door for anything? Are the aldermen going to be armed? It’s ludicrous.

Once again, I realize that your good intentions and your frustrations are real, but this zany editorial is just another finger pointing in the wrong direction.
