Police have found the vehicle they believe fatally struck two pedestrians on Clearwater’s Memorial Causeway.
The Sunday evening crash killed 51-year-old Viola Flores and 62-year-old John Berg who lived in suburban Lake in the Hills. Police say they were vacationing in Clearwater Beach.
Clearwater police say the seized the silver 2002 Mercedes-Benz SUV early Wednesday in Hillsborough County. A separate search warrant will have to be obtained to search the vehicle.
Police said in a news release that the vehicle was taken from the Tampa area residence of Charles Winzenread.
Police released several photos and videos of the vehicle, including video surveillance from nearby businesses. They also received tips from people all over the Tampa Bay area.
No further details were immediately available.
