Regarding the acceptance of Syrian refugees, we seem to have two choices: One is to accept many into our country and our hearts. The other is to dump the Statue of Liberty with its iconic poem and promise of refuge into New York Harbor. As the grandchild and great-grandchild of immigrants, I vote for keeping the statue where it is.
