The 18th annual Naperville Noon Lions Club Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning sold out again this year – the fourth year in a row.

A Lions Club official said 7,700 people signed up to run.

The club’s fundraising efforts benefit children and families in Naperville with vision and hearing care and diabetes support. About 3,000 families have been helped since the trot began in 1998, according to the group’s website.

“During our last fiscal year, we provided vision and hearing services to over 400 children and adults in the Naperville area,” Noon Lions’ Turkey Trot committee member Maria Wilson said on the website. “The majority of these cases were children in Naperville School Districts 203 and 204.”

People from all over the country participated.

Naperville Noon Lions Club is a member of the International Association of Lions Clubs founded in 1917 in Chicago.
