Happy birthday

Dec. 4: John McNamara (my birdie fell off the branch it was sleeping so hard)

Dec. 17: Becky Krampen

What do you want for Christmas?

Ryan Fleming — a Red Ryder BB gun

J.P. — a Mrs. Beasley Doll

B.J. — Kaiserschmarrn

Me — bread cheese or Finnish squeaky cheese from Wisconsin

Patti Van Til — fairness for all

Lisa Curley — funny pajama pants and matching slipper socks

Chanel Cunningham — some sleep

Gail McCoy — Christmas music to be played all year long

Dan Rohaley — an updated city of Crown Point Zoning Code and an updated Comprehensive Land Use Plan. He promises he will be a good boy in 2016.

Diane Poulton — just leave the Christmas decorations up all year

Calendar

Dec. 30: Swear In Day (Swear At Day is later in the year) for all new and used Crown Point city elected officials who will serve starting Jan. 1. It will be at 6 p.m. at the Old Lake County Courthouse. The council lost one Democrat and added another Republican, going back in time to a 5-2 Republican majority. While it might not make a difference since the city has a Democratic mayor, only time will tell. This does give the Republicans a “super majority” of the City Council.
