Liberty Bible Church: 824 N. Calumet Ave. — Faithful Fitness exercise, designed for women of all ages and fitness levels, marks its 25th year by offering the first class for free. The focus is on cardiovascular fitness and strength training. All equipment is provided. Classes at the church gym are from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Classes are $2.50 per class when purchased as a bundle or $5 per class for drop-ins. Child care is available by reservation for morning classes. Cathedral of the Holy Angels: 640 Tyler St. — The Ninth Annual Tribute to the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. will be at 3 p.m. Jan. 10. The keynote speaker will be the Most Rev. Donald J. Hying, bishop of the Diocese of Gary. The Wirt-Emerson Concert Choir with director Marion Lynn Boynes will perform.

St. Andrew Church: 801 W. 73rd Ave. — The Annual All You Can Eat Soup Kitchen, Salad Bar and Bake Sale will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p. m. Jan. 31 in St. Andrew’s Ameling Hall. The cost is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors 62 years and older, $4 for children 12 years and younger or $18 for a family of two adults and two children. Carry-outs are $7 per quart and $4 per pint.
