
Police are warning businesses in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the North Side of an increase in commercial burglaries.
Two burglaries took place overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, according to an alert from the Chicago Police Department.
One incident occurred in the 7100 block of North Clark Street between 9:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., and the second burglary happened in the 7600 block of North Clark Street between 6 p.m. and 11 a.m., the alert said.
In one of the two incidents, the attacker kicked in an interior door and cut through a drywall to access the first floor. Security video shows the suspect’s movement throughout the store, the alert said.
The attacker stole a guitar, a laptop computer, miscellaneous tools, cash, watches and a ring, the alert said.
The suspect is a black man between 25 and 45 years old. He is between 6 feet tall and 6-foot-3 and weighs between 215 and 230 pounds. He was wearing a black do-rag, white visor, hoodie jacket and light-colored pants, according to the alert.
