MOBILE HEALTH: The Community Care Connection, a mobile health unit from Rosalind Franklin University, offers free health screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, body mass index and more. HEART HEALTH: Join Advocate Condell Medical Center for the free heart health event “New Year, New You: Your Journey to Health and Happiness” from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 18 at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 510 E. Route 83, Mundelein. The event will provide motivation to reach health goals along with some straight talk on balancing work, home, health and play. Topics include time and task management techniques, successful weight management tips and the link between inactivity and heart disease. There will be a cooking demonstration featuring recipe makeovers using fresh, healthy ingredients. There will be blood pressure screenings, heart health risk assessments and giveaways.
