CTA Yellow Line service was suspended Tuesday evening because of a derailment, according to the CTA.

The derailment occurred around 7:30 p.m. just north of the Dempster-Skokie station, CTA spokesman Jeff Tolman said. No passengers were aboard the train and no injuries have been reported, Tolman said.

“Shuttle buses are available to provide connecting service through the affected area,” according to an alert from the CTA.

No. 97/Skokie buses were being recommended as an alternative.

“We are working to restore service as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding,”
