Phil Emery’s 2014 draft was a modest success with Ego Ferguson and Will Sutton seemingly keys to the final analysis. What are their outlooks? — @BillMiller1991

Ferguson was placed on injured reserve this past season after only four games and he was also suspended for four games in 2015 for violation of the NFL’s policy on performance enhancing drugs. I think if the Bears can fortify the defensive line the way they would like to in free agency and the draft that Ferguson could face a real competition to make the roster in 2016. He’s a little stiff and while he can probably play end and tackle, I don’t know that he’s going to be more than a reserve player in the rotation that they’re looking to upgrade. I’m not writing Ferguson off but he’s got to show more. Sutton had a nice season started until his elbow injury limited him. He’s never going to be an ideal fit for the line either. I think the Bears really need to bring talent in on the line and if they accomplish that, Ferguson and Sutton could be battling for the spot.
