200 free — Isaiah Parrish, Valparaiso, senior: Earned Duneland Athletic Conference MVP honors. He was ninth at state in 1:42.28.
200 IM — Jack Wulf, Munster, junior: Won Crown Point Sectional, then took 15th at state in 1:54.79.
50 free — Ryan Hrosik, Valparaiso, sophomore: Broke Brian Benedict’s 28-year-old school record with a 20.99 at state prelims. Finished fourth with a 21.04 in state finals.
Diving — Eli Mercado, Hobart, senior: Became the first diver in school history to advance to state. Placed 15th in only his second year of diving.
100 fly — Tim Schoof, Michigan City, senior: Post-Tribune Boys Swimmer of the Year placed sixth in 49.60 in the state finals after turning in a personal–best 49.18 at prelims.
100 free — Ethan Churilla, Highland, freshman: Finished eighth at state in 46.34.
500 free — Nick Hanas, Chesterton, sophomore: Took seventh at state in 4:36.83. Won the Chesterton Sectional and DAC Meet.
200 free relay — Chesterton (Wesley Slaughter, junior; Sam Kravitz, junior; Declan Tharp, freshman; Gary Kostbade, junior): Set sectional record (1:25.47), then went 1:24.01 in Indianapolis to finish second.
100 back — Tim Schoof, Michigan City, senior: Michigan State recruit owns five school records.
100 breast — Gary Kostbade, Chesterton, junior: Took third at state in 55.42 after winning Chesterton Sectional.
