Two women were seriously hurt after a single-car accident Thursday evening in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.
About 9:42 p.m., a 19-year-old woman was driving a car near the intersection of 74th Street and Loomis Boulevard when she hit water on the road and crashed into a viaduct, said Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Curtis Hudson.
The driver had to be extricated. She suffered hip and leg injuries, and she was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical-to-serious condition, Hudson said.
A 28-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, suffered a rib injury. She was also taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical-to-serious condition, Hudson said.
No other information was immediately available about the accident.
