The answer to the transgender restroom situation. This is simple common sense. Wherever needed, have Porta-Potties put in to accommodate this need, marked for transgenders. What good father would not agree with this.

Let me see if I have this right. Matt from Tinley gets a ticket for his expired plates, but wants a break. He’s complaining that the state isn’t sending out notices, yet the sticker has the month when it expires. He wants a break for being irresponsible and blames everyone else. Are you kidding me? Matt, just in case you didn’t know, police officers have to renew their plates also. I’m not sure if you have kids, but you’re setting a great example — blame others for your mistakes. You want an extra 30 days, but you can’t even do it in the 30 or 31 days you already have.

We agree with Ted Slowick’s recent column about towns wasting taxpayer money on landscaping. Tinley Park recently made 171st and 80th Avenue dangerous by planting bushes at the top of a hill blocking drivers’ view of westbound traffic. The mentality of villages spending money “just because” has to stop.
On the front page you had something about more students choosing community college. That means they’re getting smarter. First, there’s the cost factor. It costs a lot less to go to a community college than a four-year college. Secondly, in most cases kids are going to live at home and not have that expense. The most important factor is most of the community college teachers are people with practical experience in their field. Many have retired in different fields. If you go to night school, those teachers are working in their fields, which means they have a more practical idea as to what is going on within the particular field, be it business, technical or whatever it happens to be.

This is for Stan in New Lenox. I don’t know where you get your information, but they haven’t proven evolution 100 percent. I don’t know what science books you’re reading out of, but you’re delusional.
To Ned L. McCray from Tinley Park: It really isn’t fair. In your letter to the editor about gun ownership and carrying of guns, you’re picking on the poor gun owners and the National Rifle Association with their absolutely ridiculous ideas.
I wonder who’s advising Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. She makes remarks about doing away with the coal industry. She doesn’t have to. The coal industry is going down the tubes because people aren’t burning as much coal. She has nothing to do with it. Also, she stands out there and screams about the women’s vote, the minority vote and every other vote. I’m a white, retired man. She evidently doesn’t want my vote. She wants me to vote for Republicans? This has to be plain stupidity, whoever is talking to her, for pandering so much to everyone else and against white males. She ought to learn or somebody should realize that their preaching is going to cost them some votes.
Something that is simply too simple will never be recognized. Leave the men-only and the women-only bathrooms alone and make separate he/she or she/he bathrooms, and stop all the craziness.

I’d like to have the readers take a trip down Ridgeland Avenue between Interstate 80 and Vollmer Road and see all the dead trees in the forest preserve. My idea is for people to complain about some of the dead trees so near the road. Some of them are 20 feet tall. They could fall on the highway. I think something should be done. They’re trying to preserve a forest and there’s nothing but dead trees visible, and a lot of dead trees. Something should be done about it, and I think I’ll let your readers complain about it.
