WHAT: New attractions — and enhanced versions of existing attractions — will light up the nights at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. On Friday, the park will start nighttime outings of its popular Kilimanjaro Safaris with a special effect that appears to extend dusk on the savanna. Periodically through the night, the iconic Tree of Life will “awaken” with projections of natural scenes and hints of Disney films. Then, on Saturday evening, “The Jungle Book: Alive With Magic” show, a 20-minute, limited-run production, will premiere. Disney also has installed fresh street entertainment for the post-sunset crowd.
WHEN: Park hours will become are 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. New elements kick in after dusk. “The Jungle Book” show will have multiple evening performances.
WHERE: Off Interstate 4, southwest of Orlando.
COST: Starting Friday, admission to Animal Kingdom will be $114 ($108 for ages 3-9). Disney World parks will remain in their “peak” pricing phase through July 23.
