Owen + Alchemy, the Logan Square shop known for its (pricey) cold-pressed juices, is expanding its reach.
Owner Anne Owen is the recent winner of Cedar Street Developers’ #FLATSprojects, a small-business and community accelerator that kick-starts entrepreneurial projects. As a result, Owen + Alchemy was chosen to fill one of the lobby-level retail spaces in Lawrence House, 1020 W. Lawrence Ave., a new Uptown apartment complex from Cedar Street. The #FLATSprojects accelerator will provide her with free rent for a year and other benefits.

Slated to open in late July or early August, the new, 750-square-foot O+A will sell the brand’s signature plant-based juices, nut milks and “cleanse” packages available at its big sister location in Logan Square.
Around the same time, Owen + Alchemy is also opening within Lincoln Park’s élu Boutique. The location is calling itself a pop-up but will be open “indefinitely,” a rep says, which would just make it a … store? It will have its own entrance and serve a limited menu.
There were murmurings last summer of Owen + Alchemy seeking shop spaces in the West Loop and West Town, but a representative told the Tribune that currently, Owen’s efforts are focused on Lincoln Park and Uptown.
