Outraged by Kaepernick

It’s amazing to me that Colin Kaepernick, the quarterback from the San Francisco 49ers, refuses to stand up for the national anthem because he feels the country treats black Americans poorly. As a veteran, I am offended that he can sit there and do that when I have sacrificed much more than that man will ever understand. … He says that this country is a terrible place? He ought to move. I will never watch a game that he plays in ever again. The fans in San Francisco ought to protest and stop showing up for the games.

Standing up for immigrants

My family has been in this country since the Mayflower. I take exception to the characterization of illegal immigrants as villains. We just walked in and took this country away from native populations. It would be nice if everyone followed our modern rules, but the rules are ridiculous. Any immigrant who breaks the law should be deported. But any immigrant who comes here to build a better life, isn’t that what the Pilgrims did? And what your great-grandparents did?

Comment on Kirk

I hope U.S. Mark Kirk, R-Ill., doesn’t back down on his comments about President Barack Obama acting like the drug dealer in chief.
