The body of a man was discovered with his throat slit Sunday evening in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, according to police.
About 8:45 p.m., police officers found the body near railroad tracks in the 4500 block of West Monroe Street, said Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago police spokesman.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His age was estimated to be about 25 to 30. A knife was found nearby, Zala said.
Detectives are investigating the death as a homicide, and no other information was immediately available.
