Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook and his wife, Dayna, last week sold their five-bedroom, 4,300-square-foot house in Chicago’s Roscoe Village neighborhood for $1.323 million.
The Canadian-born Seabrook, 31, has spent his entire 11-year career with the Blackhawks. Last fall he signed an eight-year, $55 million contract extension.
In mid-December 2015, Seabrook and his wife paid $2.9 million for a newly built, six-bedroom, 6,300-square-foot-plus mansion on an extra-wide lot in the Lakeview neighborhood’s Southport Corridor area. They then expanded their domain by paying $1.332 million in February for a three-story, 122-year-old wood-frame house immediately to the south.
In 2006, Seabrook paid $595,000 for the lot in Roscoe Village on which he constructed the all-brick house that he and his wife now have sold. The house has 3-1/2 baths, 11-foot ceilings on the main level, custom crown moldings, designer light fixtures, oversized arched windows and two wood-burning fireplaces. Other features include interior access to a roof deck with skyline views, a kitchen with Sub-Zero, Viking and Fisher Paykel appliances, a lower level with high ceilings, and a master suite with tray ceilings, a large walk-in closet and a spalike bath.
The Seabrooks listed the house in July for $1.35 million. They found a buyer in September, and closed Oct. 28. Public records do not yet identify the buyer.
“It’s just a great house, and it sold relatively quickly,” listing agent Daniel Sullivan of Conlon/Christie’s International Real Estate told Elite Street. “It’s going to work out well for the new buyers. It’s a great house in a great area.”
