Two women stole a purse from a Naperville business Saturday morning and fought off the victim when she tried to stop them, Naperville police Cmdr. Ken Parcel said.

The incident occurred at about 9 a.m. when the suspects entered 1620 Pebblewood Lane, picked up the victim’s purse and started to leave, Parcel said in a news release.

“When the victim realized her purse was being stolen, she attempted to prevent the theft, but was battered and the offenders fled with the victim’s purse,” Parcel said.

The woman did not require medical attention, he said.

The suspects fled in a late-model silver Nissan SUV, which was last seen at the intersection of Diehl Road and Route 59, the release said.

The suspects are described at being black and in their 20s. One is believed to be about 5-foot-6 with black hair and was wearing black-frame glasses, jeans and a gray winter coat, according to the release. The other is about 5-foot-4 with black hair and was wearing dark-colored jeans and a large blue winter coat.

Anyone with information on the incident or the suspects is asked to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 630-420-6006.
