Naperville police are asking the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of stealing another man’s wallet last month and using one of the stolen credit cards to obtain merchandise from a local business.

Naperville Crime Stoppers on Thursday offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man involved in the Nov. 15 incident.

The victim called police that day to report his wallet had been stolen, the Crime Stoppers news release stated. “Immediately after the theft, the victim’s credit card was used” to purchase gift cards from a business in Naperville, the release continued.

Police provided several surveillance photographs of the man. They asked people to “pay particular attention to the (man’s) reflective coat as the suspect may wear it for his employment.”

The man faces charges of theft and unlawful use of a credit card in the case, police said.

Those who believe they know the identity of the suspect or have information about the matter are asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 630-420-6006 or www.napervillecrimestoppers.com. All information can be kept confidential.
