…and in further proof of Illinois state government dysfunction the Illinois House of Representatives has re-elected Mike Madigan for a 17th term as Speaker of the House. (Yep, you read that right. 17 terms). This means, at the end of his latest term, Mike Madigan will be the longest serving speaker in United States history. What have all of these long years gotten the state of Illinois? Currently we are facing a state government without a budget, people leaving the state in droves, higher taxes and a toxic level of corruption and cronyism.
