Observing President Donald Trump’s attempts at foreign diplomacy, I can’t help but think of the phrase “a bull in a china shop.” Our foreign relationships have been created over long periods of time and are very delicate. They can easily be destroyed. Trump appears to be running through the china shop with no regard to the past or future relationships that are so vital for world peace. Trump, who doesn’t believe in intelligence reports, sees the piece of china he wants, charges right to it with no regard to the implications of his actions as it relates to the other pieces of china he destroys on the way. The next president is going to have a big foreign mess to clean up. Let’s hope we can avoid an atomic war as we await the next administration.
