Mike Hosking, deputy police chief in Lake Bluff, plans to retire a second time.

Hosking, who retired as chief of the Lake Forest Police Department in 2008 after 31 years, said he will leave the Lake Bluff Police Department on Oct. 31, the day of annual police hot dog roast.

“I can’t think of a better day to retire on,” Hosking said by phone.

Hosking joined the Lake Bluff Police Department in March 2014, according to Lake Forester articles.
