Gone are the days when a family would be dressed to the nines in their finery for Easter church service: women in hats and bright spring dresses; men in sport coats and ties. Now, we have adults and children in blue jeans, sneakers, and T-shirts. Would they dress that way for a wedding at the same church?

The liberals will continue to nag the president for release of his tax returns and President Donald Trump will stonewall. In the mean time, Trump is working to protect Americans and keep them safe, his number one job. Trump also will regroup and pass a workable health care system and then it’s on to reforming the tax system, so ‘all’ get a tax break in the amount they pay. This will all happen and the Democrats will still be walking around with silly hats and signs and counting the times Trump went golfing with heads of state. If they really have no other things to complain about, I guess it’s better than waiting for Hillary Clinton or a Russian collusion plot.

United Airlines dragged and injured a paying passenger from the plane. Why? “Bumping.” The over-booking of flights is a common practice. Why? Preferential treatment to their own “non-paying” employees. I wonder if United will ever use its old slogan again: “Fly the friendly skies of United.”

Our current president must have skipped civics lessons while in school. Yes, the election is over but in the United States citizens are free to question the actions of our elected officials. In fact, good citizenship demands that we do so. We are free to demand our president release his taxes for us to see, especially a president who appears to have conflicts of interest between his government job and his businesses that are still being run by his family. In the United States elected officials, including the president, are the employees of all the people and not just those who agree with them.
