Thank goodness for government! While driving on I-294 with a carload of soccer players who were already late for the game, my tire went flat. Two calls were placed. One to my vehicle’s roadside assistance number which proved most unhelpful, stating costs first and, after 15 minutes of annoying questions, stating someone would be there in 60 to 90 minutes. The other call was to 911, and I was connected to a calm, reassuring human being. Within 20 minutes, a kind, gracious state worker pulled up and taught all of us how to change a tire! With all of the talk about hating government, I sure appreciate the services that my tax dollars support. Thank you to the state worker and the kind woman who answered my call.
