Spreading its tentacles A giant squid, created by Rebecca Berg of Key West, displays its tentacles over the crowd gathered at the Pier House Pretenders in Paradise Costume Competition late Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, in Key West. Pretenders was one of several costume contests during the 10-day Fantasy Fest celebration that continued through Sunday, Oct. 31. Saturday night’s parade is expected to attract more than 60,000 revelers.
