Chicago musical theater divas E. Faye Butler and Felicia P. Fields will perform together in a new cabaret concert “Lettin’ the Good Times Roll,” Steve Abrams and Kicky Productions announced Thursday.
Faye and Fields, singing jazz, gospel, blues and musical theater tunes, will be joined by a number of musicians in the limited-engagement concert including Frank L. Menzies, Jeremiah Hunt, Charles R. Heath, Joey Woolfalk, Rajiv Halim, Ron Haynes and Norman Palm. Kenneth L. Roberson will direct.
Fields, a Tony Award-nominee for her performance in “The Color Purple,” recently served as the associate director of Court Theatre’s “Five Guys Named Moe.” Faye is currently appearing in Barbara Gaines’ all-women “Taming of Shrew” at Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
“Lettin’ the Good Times Roll” runs Dec. 15-Jan. 7 at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Ave. Tickets are on sale today at 773-871-3000 and victorygardens.org.
