The developer of Park Place Glenview, a 26-home development on the Old Village Hall site, broke ground on Thursday.
The development includes 12 single-family homes and 14 rowhomes located at 1225 Waukegan Road, according to a news release from The Drake Group, the developer of the project.
The row homes will feature 2,000 to 2,300 square feet, three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths, according to the release. Select rowhomes will offer the option for a fourth-floor media room and roof deck, it said.
When the Board of Trustees unanimously approved the development in May, the original proposal was modified so that the six rowhomes at the southeast corner of the property do not include a fourth floor living space and rooftop deck.
Residents previously raised concerns about the proposed height and rooftop deck size of the rowhomes because they believed the building structure didn’t fit the neighborhood atmosphere of the surrounding area.
The six rowhomes were redesigned to have pitched roofs with attic space, which will slightly decrease the height of the rowhomes, Jeff Brady, the director of planning, previously said.
The single-family homes will feature 2,300 to 2,400 square feet, three bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths and the option for a fourth bedroom and additional full bathroom in the basement, according to the release.
All homes in the development will include energy-saving features, 9-foot ceilings and attached two-car garages, according to the release.
Early bird sales will begin in January, and models for the single family and rowhomes are scheduled to be completed in the spring, according to the release. Pricing will start in the area of $550,000 for the rowhomes and $750,000 for single-family homes, according to the developer.
