A big congratulations and a job well done to Hobart High’s theatre department and to Mrs Nelson for their production of “The Wizard of Oz.” They did a great job and everyone involved should be extremely proud of themselves.

Gratitude is a lost art. That is why people are so lost. They do not appreciate anything. They just expect more and more. Nothing makes them happy.

You gotta love places like Wal-Mart that profess their religious beliefs and family values and yet choose to open on Thanksgiving, depriving their employees of spending the holiday with their families.

I will not shop at any stores that open on Thanksgiving! The greed is overwhelming — 3 p.m. Black Friday on Thursday? Shame.

The way these men keep being accused — maybe the White House needs Jerry Springer daily.

The pastors of Alabama have gathered around Roy Moore. One said “He would support him even if the allegations were proven to be true.” One said “the allegations made them more proud to vote for Moore.” One said “Some 14-year-olds, the way they look, could pass for 20-year-olds.” Who are these pastors, and who raised these men?

Unlike chromium, raw sewage will eventually break down and go away and does not cause cancer.

It has been said that Republicans are more interested in getting the tax bill passed by electing a pedophile than taking a chance that a Democrat may win. What is wrong with these people?

Councilman Dave Vinzant, another fee in Hobart for elderly people? You don’t say anything about the fire trucks and city ambulances that go to the stores every day and sit outside running while at least two of the personnel do their shopping. Why can’t a car be used and gas mileage be charged? It would be much cheaper.

Even without the very probably true allegations of sexual assault, Roy Moore should under no circumstances be allowed to become a federal lawmaker. He’s openly racist, homophobic and has nothing but contempt for the rule of law (hence his being removed from the judiciary twice). I say electing a man like that should disqualify Alabama from U.S. statehood. I have always said and maintain that readmitting the rebel states into the union was a mistake.

Down in the southern states, the people will vote for a child molester, pedophile or rapist if he or she is a Republican rather than a honest Democrat or Republican. But you know, an old saying down there is after the divorce it’s back to being brother and sister.

Just about any one of the 2016 Republican presidential nominees, if elected, could have been miles farther down the road by now than Donald Trump on sensible health care, immigration and tax reform. And without all the self-inflicted and divisive collateral damage that, in just one year, now trashes the American landscape.

As an evangelical and a Republican, I grieve at the damage Donald Trump’s election has done to the Christian gospel.

Literally, do you know what the word “literally” means?

If you were fooled into thinking that signing a massive student loan was your ticket to paradise, then I sure feel sorry for you believing that there was going to be an amazing job for you when your time was over in college. These companies want their money back they loaned you, and there’s talk of suspending your driver’s license if you don’t pay it back. Great idea!

Donald Trump sits in his own little tweetie kiddyland, where he pouts, brags, blames, bullies, name calls, and tries to govern the nation by a few shallow thoughts off the top of his head.
