Instead of raising taxes on everybody, start cutting these fat, overpaid salaries that the politicians get. . . Cut them by about 40 percent. They’re not worth it. None of them.

Fellow Democrats, you are only making things worse for us by showing your mean, hateful actions. Believe me that this won’t help. I don’t want any part of it. I’m beginning to dislike us.
I read in the newspaper that charities are worried that fewer middle-class people will donate to their organizations due to the new tax law. Is that the motivating factor, then, as to why people donate — to get a tax break? If people were genuinely devoted to the causes that they claim to support, then they would continue to support them financially, whether they get a tax break or not. There’s nothing quite like false virtue.
With a huge increase in marijuana-influenced driving accidents, hospital stays, long term and short term physical disability costs, lost wages in the hospital stays, and more emergency calls, it is clear that these financial and social/societal costs far outweigh any possible tax revenue increase resulting in the legalization of recreational marijuana use. May it never come to Illinois like it has descended upon California.
