Sport: Boys bowling

Best game: Wolf qualified for the boys bowling state tournament by posting a six-game score of 1,318 at the Taft Sectional on Jan. 20. He finished in ninth place. Wolf advanced to the sectional as an individual after placing 11th at the New Trier Regional with a score of 1,127 on Jan. 13.

School: Maine South

Sport: Wrestling

Season stats: Halvorsen is 24-1 on the season.

Best game: After recording pins in his first two matches in the 182-pound weight class at the Central Suburban League tournament, Halvorsen earned the title with a 13-4 major decision over Glenbrook North junior Cam Casey in the finals on Jan. 20.

Quote: “The kids on the team really look up to him,” Hawks coach Kevin Hansen said.

Best game: Singleton scored 20 points in the Wolves’ 40-39 Central Suburban South win over Glenbrook South on Jan. 12 in Skokie. It was the third straight game that Singleton reached the 20-point plateau.

Quote: “At the beginning of the year, I was searching for a comfort zone,” said Singleton, who played sparingly as a junior. “After a few games, I gained more experience and realized that the team needed me.”
