It was reported that Illinois has 852 school districts compared to Florida, which has only 100 districts but with a similar population to this state. If Illinois officials reduced their districts, the savings would be $100 million yearly. This was music to my ears. It’s about time someone highlight one of the real problems Illinois faces with taxes. They’re spending too much supporting these districts and putting the burden on taxpayers over and over. It’s causing financial problems with the average middle class. We’re living paycheck to paycheck. It’s hard to put away anything for a rainy day. If Illinois would consider reducing districts by a few hundred, it would be a start. All they are doing now is hanging us out to dry.

I would like to thank someone special for an act of kindness. Recently I had breakfast with a friend at a restaurant and this beautiful person paid for our meal. It restored my faith in mankind. With all the evil and hatred in this world, it’s good to know that there are still some wonderful people in it. May God bless him or her. Thank you.
I’m not the world’s greatest shopper but I know one thing. It’s important and vital to this country that we have stores open where you can walk in and buy something. They’re going to turn this country into a ghost town. It’s on its way. They closed Kmart. They closed down the Sears. They’re getting ready to close other stores down and a few other companies. What’s going on in this country? Is the internet getting so strong that we don’t need stores anymore? People, get out and shop. Support your local businesses.
When I saw in the newspaper that more than 300 Cook County employees were laid off because of the county tax for soda being repealed, I thought that if they can lay off approximately 300 people in the county then it means one thing. They had around 300 people too many — people doing the same job over and over and over repeatedly. John was doing Mary’s work. Mary was doing John’s work. Wait a minute. You had two people doing the same work here. It’s no wonder that they had more than 300 people that they could let go. To be honest with you, they could probably let go of another 300 and still get the same work done.
