People talk about raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour. If they do that, places like McDonald’s and KFC are going to automate. You’re going to have to have a college degree in fast-food engineering to get a job at KFC and Burger King in the future.
On a recent Friday afternoon, I saw a young woman with a baby in her arms return her shopping cart to the corral so someone wouldn’t hit the cart with a car. It would have been very easy for her to have said, “I’ve got a small child. I’m just going to leave it beside where my car was parked,” and back out and go on her way. This was very good to see. I’ve seen too many able-bodied people not return their carts to the right place. To that woman who was at Menards on that Friday afternoon: Thank you.
If America was in good shape, we wouldn’t need all these politicians. I think the trouble with politicians is that they don’t put enough time in on their jobs trying to make America better. I think what they do is stay on the telephone and solicit funds for their campaigns. What a bad way to be.
Monday night mist, falling temps, freezing drizzle. Where were all the salt trucks before last Tuesday’s morning traffic? Ridiculous.
