State of the Kids report
Results of a survey by 7th- and 10th-graders in Naperville School Districts 203 and 204 will be presented to the public at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.
The report will be presented by KidsMatter, which sponsored the survey, and the presentation is open to the public.
A resource fair of about 20 organization offering services to children and families will open at 6 p.m.

Evidence of a Crime lecture
A member of the Naperville Police Department’s Crime Scene Unit will discuss how to process crime scenes and prepare evidence for analysis at a program at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, at the Naper Boulevard Library, 2035 S. Naper Blvd.
The presentation will feature a hands-on experience with evidence collection in a mock crime scene.

Give Kids a Smile Day
The DuPage County Health Department’s dental program and the American Dental Association will observe the annual “Give Kids a Smile Day,” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at the DuPage Children’s Museum, 301 N. Washington St.
Free dental screenings will be done by health department dentists and volunteer dentists. No appointments are necessary. The program is for children 1 to 18.

Nature Discovery Days
February’s Nature Discovery Days series featuring the theme “Winter Birds,” are scheduled on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. starting Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Knoch Knolls Nature Center, 320 Knoch Knolls Road.
Self-guided stations will help participants recognize Illinois birds and learn what winter birds eat and how they keep warm. Families can also make a simple bird feeder to take home.
No advanced registration is required, but children must be accompanied by at least one adult.
