Lake Shore Drive’s southbound lanes were blocked past 57th Street for about half an hour Thursday morning because of a crash, Chicago police said.
The crash happened shortly after 7 a.m. near the 57th Street exit near the Museum of Science and Industry. The lanes were reopened by 7:45 a.m.
Motorists drove on the grass and bike lines to avoid the traffic jam, according to WGN-TV.
