The Glenview Civic Awards Committee is looking for nominees for the 51st annual Glenview Civic Awards, which will be awarded in the spring, according to the village.
Glenview residents or individuals who work in the village can be nominated for citizen of the year, youth of the year, a public safety award and a public service award, according to village spokeswoman Lynne Stiefel.
A nomination form or a detailed letter outlining the nominee’s qualifications is due by 3 p.m. March 12, according to a village statement. Nominations can be mailed to the Glenview Police Department to the attention of Sandie Elliott, emailed to Elliott or sent by fax, it said.
The nominations are reviewed and selected by a committee made up of members from sponsoring service clubs in the village, according to the statement. The purpose of the awards is to recognize Glenview citizens who have made a difference in 2017 through community service, it said.
The 2017 Glenview Civic Awards will be presented to the recipients at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Chicago North Shore Suites on April 20, according to the statement. The dinner costs $50 per person, and reservations are required in advance, it said.
