Another day in our right wing wild, wild west gun utopia. They keep telling us that we will be safer with more guns floating around.
The FBI informed Trump that the Russians meddled in our elections and are planning to escalate their interference for the next election. This is a state sponsored terror attack against the USA. Trump has done nothing about this.
Where are the pro-lifers protesting all of this gun violence and demanding that something be done? Or does their concern end upon the immediate exit from the womb?
Dead people receive more flowers than the living ones because regret is stronger than gratitude.
Every state and federal election matters … expect us. Don’t take anything for granted.
Fox News commentator Laura Ingraham said that Lebron James should just “Shut up and dribble.” Why do these right-wing media people have such a hard time with athletes and entertainers voicing their opinions? These people make a lot of money, they pay a lot of taxes and contribute to the community. Why shouldn’t they be allowed to say what they want? In the right-wing world, if you don’t agree with them, they need to silence you, just like in Nazi Germany.
Once again, our so called “state legislature” is wasting more time and tax dollars on a bill requiring parental, written permission in order for their children to take sex education in public schools. Topics mentioned were sexual activity, sexual orientation or gender identity. Senator Dennis Kruse annd Speaker Brian Bosma, did your parents have to give their permission for you to take sex education when attending high school or did they take you on a “field trip” to a farm to learn about sex?
Yes, of course, if we ban assault weapons, some criminals will still get them. It is naive to think otherwise. It is equally naive to think we would not cut way back on senseless killings.
The last 50 years redefined womanhood; women were taught that they can be anything that they want. No commensurate movement for men, who are still generally locked into the same rigid, outdated model of masculinity and it’s killing us.
Trump is insisting on spending billions on that wall between Mexico. How is that wall going to stop our white home-grown terrorists that nobody wants to address?
“We have all of the resources in the world and we can’t figure out why this happens in out country and doesn’t happen everywhere else. Forget your political arguments. Why can’t we come together as a society and say now we’re going to study this. We’re going to research this, we’re going to put our best and brightest together? Put them all in a room. Give them funds and give them whatever they need.” Fox News anchor Shepard Smith
America used to be called The Melting Pot, where diverse people came to our country and melted into the culture as one. In the 80s, I heard it better called a Salad Bowl. This is where diverse people came together, but instead of melting into all the same mess, they came together as one, yet kept their distinct individual differences. All were a part of our culture, yet encouraged to keep their traditions alive, to make for an interesting whole. Now it seems some want our country to be Vanilla Pudding. I am happy to skip the dessert.
During the previous assault weapon ban, the number of gun massacres dropped by 37%. After the ban lapsed in 2004, the numbers shot up an astonishing 183%.
