Cook County and the city of Chicago keep raising our real estate taxes and we don’t get anything for it. They don’t even come and plow snow.

This may be the only time I’ve ever said anything positive about Mayor Rahm Emanuel or Chicago lately, but I just want to give a great shout-out to all the plow drivers. Lake Shore Drive during the recent snow mess was fantastic. My commute from the South Side all the way up to Skokie was uneventful. Great job, Chicago.

I’m sure everybody is wondering about the recent snowstorm we had. On a Monday and for the beginning of the following Wednesday, the roads were not plowed. I think with all the tax money that we pay, especially to Illinois, that these roads should be cleared for people having to go to work in the morning. If they want more money out of our pockets, maybe they could help us out and get out there in their big plow trucks and do some plowing. They should help us out.

Why can both parties — the Republicans and the Democrats — just finally get together? Let’s get this country going on the right foot and get it going the right way.
