My husband and I are very interested in new housing developments, especially ones for empty nesters. We are baby boomers. I think our generation will be the last ones to retire with good benefits and a good pension and to be able to make good decisions about where we live as opposed to some towns that keep putting up assisted care living. I think someone should’ve talked to us baby boomers. We have the money. We’re going to stay in our homes and we’re going to buy homes that are going to make sure that we can do that. Instead, some places tear up areas or trees to build unneeded housing developments. They’re ruining the natural beauty of some areas.
To those who might have had problems with deer eating their plants in the past: You’ve probably got mulberry or wineberry bushes. Go get some salt licks and put up fences before those bushes have fruit on them. There’s got to be something in your yard that draws deer. It’s got to be a plant or something that is drawing them there. You just need to go and put up a fence. Otherwise, if the problem with deer gets really bad, then maybe you need to use your head and move.
This younger generation is going to change what is broken in reference to our elections. Older voters are either Democrats or Republicans who have a hard time crossing over, if ever. The upcoming generation is going to demand changes and not accept business as usual. I take my hat off to them.

Maybe, I’m too old at 55 to be idealistic but I always thought that public officials were held to a higher standard than someone not in public office, not a lower standard. Mayors need to do things that take integrity and a little bit of class instead of fighting with their city councils or village boards. Taking legal action against each other costs the taxpayers more money. Some politicians seem to think that the office is nothing but about perks, and it really makes me sick to my stomach that we have all these elderly people who are on fixed incomes and really can’t afford hikes for their sewer and trash bills. Politicians not for the people need to leave.
