We need some fresh blood in the school system — people who are concerned about our children. Our children are the first priority we should all be concerned about. … I am so tired of the situation. Although I don’t have children in the school system anymore, I have grandchildren. When will we learn to get it right?
Everybody shouldn’t get one raise straight across the board. Maybe you’ve been there for 20 years and another person’s been there for two years and another person’s been there for 90 days. The longer you’re there, the more money you should make. All pay raises should be equal to however number of years you’ve been there, not politics to give this person a $5,000 raise and give another person a $200 raise.
In the past, the city of Chicago was kept a lot cleaner. Now, there’s trash everywhere you go. I recommend that Mayor Rahm Emanuel take a closer look at who is running these departments, including code enforcement, so that our city can be a little bit cleaner.
We went to the United Center to the Eagles concert and we’re sitting in the upper level. An amber alert came across my phone. We saw thousands of people look at their phones at the same time. News travels fast. They looked like fireflies.
