A Chicago police officer was injured when he was pinned between two vehicles during a traffic stop on the South Side early Saturday, police said.

The officer had stopped a vehicle around 1:30 a.m. in the 300 block of West 71st Street in the Englewood neighborhood when a Dodge Durango rear-ended the squad car, pinning the officer between the vehicles.

He suffered a minor leg injury and was treated at a local hospital. The driver of the Dodge Durango was hospitalized at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, but the person’s condition was unknown.
