The man police have been looking for since early Saturday morning in connection with a triple homicide turned himself in Wednesday afternoon.

Raheem D. King, 22, whom police had described as armed and dangerous, was booked into the Winnebago County Jail shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday. His girlfriend, Lakeacia Kizart, 21, also turned herself in. She was charged with concealing or aiding a fugitive.

“We’re very happy to have Mr. King in custody at this time as he was a great threat to the public,” Police Chief Dan O’Shea said.

O’Shea said the investigation is ongoing and he could not provide any further details in the case.

“We can now allow the criminal justice system to do its work as we move forward,” State’s Attorney Joe Bruscato said at a news conference on Wednesday.

King is being held without bond. Kizart’s bond is $1 million.

Kizart lives in the 300 block of North Horace Avenue, according to court records. That’s the area where police served a search warrant Saturday afternoon after the shooting.

Police say King shot and killed three men while on a private charter bus in Rockford.

Daijon K. Sistrunk, 22, and his cousin Sean M. Anderson, 27, were slain along with Martavies J. Blake, 21, while the bus was in the area of Auburn Street and Johnston Avenue.
