The Illinois Chamber of Commerce has announced that Meghan Woltman has been sworn in as the new chair of the chamber’s board of directors.
Woltman, a River Forest resident, is the vice president of government and community relations for Advocate Health Care. She currently leads Advocate’s efforts in Springfield, as well as Washington, D.C.
At Advocate, Woltman works with hospital-based teams to build local partnerships with elected officials and community stakeholders to communicate the policy priorities of the system, the ICC said in a press release.
“We’re elated for the insight and expertise that Meghan and [new chair-elect] Brent Eichelberger will bring to the table in prominent leadership roles,” ICC President and CEO Todd Maisch said in a statement. “It’s an honor to continue to work alongside some of Illinois’ brightest business leaders.”
Woltman formerly served as vice-chair of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and has been a director on the board since 2011. She also sits on the Chicago Women in Government Relations board of directors.
Woltman is the second woman to lead the board in the organization, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2019.
The announcement comes as Chairman of the Board Tony Reinhart of Ford Motor Co. has completed his two-year term.
“We want to extend our sincerest appreciation to Tony for his inventive leadership over his term as chairman,” Maisch said. “His dedication to the business community was vital to the chamber’s success the past two years. We owe him tremendous gratitude for his service in leadership.”
