The Chicago International Latino Theater Festival, known as “Destinos,” will return for seven weeks this fall, featuring homegrown work running alongside stories from around the world.
Produced by the Chicago Latino Theater Alliance, theater artists and companies from Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico and Puerto Rico will land in critical cultural spots like Chicago Shakespeare, Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf, Victory Gardens and National Museum of Mexican Art.
Local Latino companies like The Miracle Center, Teatro Vista, UrbanTheater, Aguijon Theater and Water People are also on the lineup, and Chicago-based playwrights will include Ricardo Gamboa and Guadalis Del Carmen. Other U.S.-based companies will join them, with a number of Midwestern and North American premieres staged throughout the fest.
“Destinos” will run Sept. 20 — Nov. 4. For more information about locations and tickets, visit clata.org
