More than 100 people attended the “Bridging the Gap Globally” charity basketball tournament on Aug. 18, 2018, at 61st and Halsted streets in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood. Kenny Doss Jr.’s love of basketball is what prompted him to start the outdoor tournament three years ago to “bring blocks together” in the neighborhood he’s lived in most of his life.
