No raises for lawmakers: Our do-nothing Congress, House of Representatives, the Republicans and the Democrats do absolutely nothing yet they want a big raise. Put it to a vote to the American people. Nobody wants them to get a penny. They’re rotten. They could care less about the American public. They sit on their thumbs. (They’re) a bunch of lazy, good-for nothing-people. We need to stop it.
Old as Father Time: Why in this age does America depend on leaders as old as Father Time? What brought us to this? Sure, experience is the best teacher, but stamina is also necessary. John F. Kennedy was considered very young for office in his early 40s but we need someone with fire in their gut not ashes.
Elgin should clear eyesores: Hey, Elgin, why don’t we wake up. Aren’t we tired of looking at that property on the corner of Grove and Kimball street across from the beautiful library and the rec center? I’m talking about that gas station and that blighted building on Brook and Kimball, the old Bill’s Tap. I don’t care who owns it. Why doesn’t the city use eminent domain and get that building in the ground? And why are there still Spanish signs on the building? It’s out of business. Take them down. One other eyesore is on Slade and Dundee avenues. How many times do the people of Elgin have to look at this crap? It sure isn’t helping our city any. That’s why people make fun of us from other suburbs.
Tired of politically correct: I’ve got a question. How do the police expect to get any information about the guys who robbed the Batavia liquor store with a baseball bat if they don’t say if they were white, black or green? This politically correct B.S. is for the birds. How do they expect anybody to give them information on these people? If you’re white, you’re white. If you’re black, you’re black. If you’re green, you’re green. Stop all this B.S.
Not a fan of RVs in driveways: This is about the Elgin City Council and RV parked in driveway. Let’s look about this. I was driving down Prospect the other day, can you imagine an RV parked on the driveway? More so on Center. Can you imagine more cars on Center? Go down on Cedar Avenue, the same thing. I can think of street after street that if someone puts an RV in their driveway, there’ll be more cars on the street. Rose Martinez and Terry Gavin have very good judgment. I think if the council does this, it’s a big mistake. Why not listen to the majority instead of the few?
