Alaska senator Lisa Murkowski is getting headlines and all sorts of attention just for saying she is “disturbed” by the way Mitch McConnell has announced that he is working with the White House to craft procedures for the impeachment trial. “Disturbed”? That’s quite a bombshell criticism by GOP standards.
Trump has always said the one whoever takes the 5th, does so because they are guilty. So we can assume that is what his plan is.
But Trump WAS allowed witnesses, and he WAS allowed to submit documents in his defense. But time and again, he blocked relevant witnesses and documentation. You can’t complain if you refuse to participate.
Trump’s misleading uttering are largely the same as what Limbaugh says or would say. Trump is the symptom of the problem, not the entire problem. The major influence started about 30 years ago with people like Rush Limbaugh and others, who have had a major influence on the weak-minded far-right.
I have been a lawyer for 28 years. Guilty folks don’t act like innocent folks. Innocent folks give you a list of witnesses and beg you to call them.
Trump wants a rushed trial because there has been no exculpatory information yet. Literally everything that emerges, from testimony to documents, has been incriminating.

Trump’s Christmas message said “Together we must strive to foster a culture of deeper understanding and respect, traits that exemplify the teachings of Christ.” Then a bit later he attacks “Crazy Nancy Pelosi,” so his Christmas message was obviously written by someone else, and didn’t register with him at all.
In April 2017, Fox News began airing a disclaimer declaring that it’s programming is “for entertainment purposes only.” The disclaimer appears during program openings in small text at the bottom of the screen. This is done to protect them from litigation of their fake news.
