The Trump impeachment — where never before have so many with nothing to hide worked so hard to hide so much.
I just got letters back from both Indiana senators regarding the impeachment. They were identical, word for word. Clearly the GOP has locked down all the communications to toe the party line. What a couple of hacks that can’t even think for themselves or have their staff express a personal opinion. Very disappointed in both of them.
Now our military won’t say how many of our valiant soldiers had potential life-altering brain injuries from the Iran missile attack. Whatever happened to the touted Patriot Missile defense system? Didn’t our military or Trump think our soldiers deserved to be protected by a tried and true missile defense system that was installed in Israel before the 2003 Iraq war?
Trump left his impeachment troubles behind by attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he has kept fact-checkers busy by telling one great big lie after another. “I saved black colleges!” He did not. “We have the greatest economy we’ve had under any president!” No, that honor goes to Bill Clinton, who actually managed to pay down some of the national debt. And no, we do not have the highest employment rate in history. Why does he tell these lies when they can be so easily debunked? Because he knows his base doesn’t care. They believe that anything he says is true, and any claim that they are not is just “fake news.”
My son will get to vote for the first time this year! Yay. He can vote for whoever he wants to. No pressure. But, vote Republican and you can hunker down with dad. In the shed. I do have blankets available. Hope you don’t need one. Love you.
Mitch McConnell knows the Ukraine scandal also implicates several Republicans in the Senate and the House. If the full truth comes out, their house of cards will come falling down.
Millions watching the televised impeachment hearings are getting a great education in the mechanics of government in a democracy and the art of debate. May all also note, including anti-religionists, that after more than 200 years Congress still opens each day in prayer.
Alan Dershowitz’s clients have included Jeffery Epstein, O.J. Simpson, Mike Tyson, Jim Baker, Claus Von Bulow and Harvey Weinstein. Now add Trump to the list. Looks like he’s in good company.
I was really shocked to hear the president’s defense team speak. Pat Cippolone was worse than any failing first year law student. All the money in the world, and you put your defense in the hands of these jokers? Now I see why Trump lost or settled most of those 3,500 legal cases he has had — He would never pay for a decent attorney.
All future presidential elections will be decided in a new manner — a pattern has been set. First, you have the vote and the electoral college delegate system. But there is a new wild card that may get rid of the winner. If the opposite political party of the winner controls the House and Senate, the winner just automatically is eliminated as well as the vice president — just save the time wasted to go through the motions. If the House is the same party as the president, the position is secured.
Imagine a trial where the victim and the police aren’t allowed to present evidence and the judge and jury coordinate with the defense. That’s exactly how Mitch McConnell is proposing to run Donald Trump’s Impeachment Trial.
Apparently Trump’s financial empire is not doing all that well under Eric and Junior’s guidance. That’s bad news for the rest of us. The worse Trump’s finances become, the more likely he is to do shady deals with people who want leverage on the U.S. If we could see his tax returns, we’d probably find that there’s plenty of that going on already.
