Zach LaVine isn’t waiting any longer for his happily ever after.
The 25-year-old Bulls guard recently got engaged to his high school sweetheart, Hunter Mar; they’ve been together since LaVine was 17. Both confirmed the news via Instagram.
LaVine also has a basketball-related reason to celebrate: He won his quarterfinal matchup against former Celtics superstar Paul Pierce in ESPN’s H-O-R-S-E tournament Sunday. The competition is set up to accommodate social-distancing requirements in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
LaVine will take on the Sky’s Allie Quigley in Thursday’s semifinals by competing from his home in Snohomish, Wash.
Before the coronavirus put sports on hold, LaVine was having arguably the best season of his career, leading the Bulls with 25.5 points per game to go with 4.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists. He is under contract with the Bulls through the 2021-22 season.
