As horrifying as it would be, the media should consider airing a few active images of people infected by the COVID-19 virus as they struggle for breath in their death agony. Horrifying, yes, and terrible to think of, but maybe it would change the minds of some of these protesters who declare that they’re not going to comply with any stay at home or other orders meant to help contain this pandemic. It’s difficult and it’s disruptive, but not as difficult and disruptive as dying.

I’m fine with people gathering to protest stay-at-home orders, one one condition: when you or your family get COVID-19, hospitals should be allowed to refuse you treatment and turn you around to go home. Hospital workers are already risking our lives and our families’ lives showing up to take care of people who aren’t willfully hastening their own demise. You want to play tough guy in the face of a pandemic? Fine, but stay out of my hospital when that viral chicken comes home to roost.

The White House defended Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner traveling to New Jersey during this lockdown. “Ivanka with her immediate family celebrated Passover at a closed down facility considered to be a family home. The location was less populated than the surrounding are near her home in D.C.” A country club is not a family home, and how many people, including the Secret Service and staff had to travel with her family? There is not a single rule that applies to them, only the rest of us have to follow the rules.

So “spontaneous” protests against state attempts to slow the spread of COVID-19 are happening thanks to the financial support of people like the DeVos family. With any luck, natural selection will take out the teabaggers,  trumpsters and militia trash. Paging Dr. Darwin, it’s an emergency!

Trump has been reluctant to have testing available to all Americans.  He does not want the real numbers revealed, because it will make it look much worse than he wants it portrayed.

During this time when everyone is distracted with the coronavirus, the EPA just loosened the rules on oil and coal-fired power plant emissions of mercury and other toxic pollutants. Did they think that nobody would notice?

The Republican Party has been trying to convince America that the federal government is useless and not needed since Reagan was in office. Since Trump has been in office, he has been dismantling our government. Now when we need it most, it doesn’t exist. There is no pandemic response team. Putting Kushner in charge does not allow me to sleep better at night. I only pray this is the only emergency crisis that occurs while Trump is still in the Oval Office. Who knew we could have a pandemic? Might I suggest Obama knew. That is why he had a team and plan in place. If only Trump sent someone to attended the transition briefings …

I wish Jerry Davich would shut the hell up about religion and the coronavirus thing. His human interest stories are irrelevant and irritating. Why didn’t he write an article criticizing former Sheriff John Buncich for firing a deaf man over politics? Was Davich in Buncich’s pockets?

During the first 10 days of the small business rescue program, red state Nebraska got enough money  to cover about three-fourths of their eligible payrolls. New York and California got less than a quarter of their share. Nebraska has two Republican Senators and a Republican Governor, while California and New York have Democratic Governors and Senators. Coincidence?

I take no responsibility, but I want the power to do anything I want, and I get to take credit for all the good stuff. And everyone has to be really nice to me.

Isn’t it darling that Little Hands Donnie thinks the state governors need his permission to do their jobs? Putin is smiling. I’m so tired of winning…
